Descendants of Sarah Wright and Joseph Berry

Generation No. 1 

1.  SARAH FRANCIS ANN¹ WRIGHT was born 1819 in Norfolk Island?, and died 18 August 1875 in Ulverstone, Tasmania.  She married JOSEPH BERRY 5 September 1836 in Wesleyan Church, Forth, Tasmania.  He was born 1809 in Wiltshire,  UK, and died 1 November 1880 in Ulverstone, Tasmania. 

Joseph arrived in Australia per Forth from England on 22 March 1832. He was an indentured servant.

He came to  Launceston (Woolnorth) per  the 'Edward' which sailed from Circular Head arriving on 25th January, 1835. He was on the 'Free list' listed as age 26.  (John Fell Jnr. also arrived on this boat.)

Joseph Berry came to work for the VDL Company as a shepherd in his youth. He took up land at Forth in 1841.

In his later life he had large land holdings at Longford, Tasmania.

 2.  ALICE² BERRY (SARAH FRANCIS ANN¹ WRIGHT) was born 21 July 1837 in Norfolk Plains, Tasmania, and died 28 February 1861 in Port Sorell, Tasmania.  She married THOMAS PALMER 1856 in Port Sorell, Tasmania.  He was born 1831 in Devonshire, England, and died 15 April 1906 in 88 Gwynne St, Richmond, Victoria.

Leven, Tasmania, daughter of JOHN WILLIAMS and SARAH HARVEY.  She was born 1 September 1851 in Launceston, Tasmania, and died 2 October 1891 in Ringarooma, Tasmania, Australia.  He married (2) AMELIA ANN MUNDY 15 March 1893 in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia, daughter of HENRY MUNDY and MARY HOWELL.  She was born 10 May 1851 in Bream Creek, Tasmania, Australia, and died 19 February 1899 in Lilydale, Tasmania, Australia.

8.  JOHN CROMWELL² BERRY (SARAH FRANCIS ANN¹ WRIGHT) was born 17 May 1854 in Forth, Tasmania, and died 13 November 1937 in Ulverstone Hospital, Tasmania.  He married ALICE COOK WARREN 28 June 1877 in Alice's Family Home, Tasmania, daughter of RICHARD WARREN and ANN WRIGHT.  She was born 26 August 1851 in Launceston, Tasmania, and died 5 August 1935 in Elmslie, Leven St, Ulverstone.
